Meet Sierra Baker

Sierra Baker is a native of New Jersey. Sierra is an alumni of Bowie State University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Social Work in 2011, and an alumni of the University of Maryland Baltimore- School of Social Work, earning a Masters in Social Work in 2012. Sierra’s specialization in her master’s program was maternal child health with a focus on clinical based education.

 

Sierra is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Maryland and the District of Columbia (DC), as well as a certified clinical supervisor in Maryland. Sierra has over 12 years of experience in the field of social work, providing direct services to youth and families in the child welfare system and outpatient mental health facilities, clinical therapeutic and counseling services to the community, and management and clinical supervision support to licensed social workers. Sierra has provided ongoing support to aspiring social workers during their field placement learning opportunities, as well as mentoring social workers on their journey within the field. Sierra is considered an expert in leadership and clinical supervision, team building and team cohesion, psychosocial diagnostic assessments and evaluations, safety assessments and planning, critical thinking, connectivity to resources, and creating safe spaces for others to flourish and overcome challenges. Currently, Sierra is a Program Specialist with the federal government as well as a contracted clinical therapist with a non-profit agency in Maryland.

 

Although Sierra holds several titles, her favorite title is Mother! Sierra is a mother of two children, Camden and Caylee. Sierra enjoys spending time with her children and incorporates them in all aspects of her life. In her free time, Sierra enjoys spending time with family, connecting with friends, traveling, organizing, and exercising. Sierra is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Sierra remains active within the organization and community, striving to make an impact and enhance the lives of others.

 

Sierra is zealous, thoughtful, hard-working, and passionate. Sierra is a visionary who thrives when she can help others break barriers and reach their fullest potential. Sierra’s passion is within the Social Work field, specifically leadership and development of clinicians and aspiring clinicians, helping to overwhelm roadblocks and reduce stress and trauma, in effort to retain devoted professionals within the field. Although Sierra has provided support and guidance unofficially, Sierra created Intentionally Managing Me, LLC (IMM) as a safe and authentic space for professionals and providers, where they can blossom and process their professional goals and barriers, to magnify their well-being. It is Sierra’s hope that by taking care of ourselves, enhancing our professional education, and reaching our goals, we can show up and make a better impact on the communities we serve!
